- Do I have to stay at the hotel?
No, you can stay anywhere you like and travel to the venue hotel each day if you like.
But, please do take into consideration that:
- We would appreciate you staying at the hotel as it makes them happier to have us again if they do make money from us being there.
- It’s way more convenient to step out of your hotel room and right into the convention space, with everything you need in-house.
- If something runs late you won’t have to try to get transport or accommodation elsewhere, and you won’t have to pay to do so – you’re already at your accommodation!
- Room sharing options
- Will there be places to change?
Yep! The convention will have changing areas once you get into the space. But we ask to please consider the safety of our guests and ensure that all Ageplay-related wear be limited to within the convention area only.
- Where can we find the convention rules?
Convention rules can be found HERE
- Is there a vetting process for the convention?
Yes, there are criteria for ensuring this remains a community-focused and positive event so we have the responsibility of ensuring our attendees are appropriate, respected and safe. Toward this end, as this is a private event we reserve the right to refuse purchasing of tickets, or refuse entry to any and all parties at our sole discretion.
- Where is the convention?
KangaCon is being held on the Gold Coast in August 2020.
We will give hotel information in your email once you register and are approved.
We will keep the location details strictly private and limited to attendees only, in order to keep our convention as safe as possible.
- What is the nearest airport, and is there a train line?
The nearest airport is Coolangatta (Gold Coast airport) about a 30min drive to the host hotel.
Skybus is available as is Uber and taxi.
Yes: A G:Link light rail station linking Helensvale Train Station to Broadbeach through Southport is located on Cypress Avenue, a short stroll from the host Hotel.
- What time does the convention start on Friday and close on Sunday?
Officially KangaCON starts with a Pre-Con Dinner at 6pm Thursday, with early registrations available after the dinner concludes. The Con Space will open at 9am on Friday morning and with the closing ceremony starting at 1.30pm. The official end at 2.30pm Sunday.
- Can I arrive on Thursday? What is there to do in the area?
If you like you could arrive early as early registration and a pre-con dinner are planned. However, the event does not kick off officially until Friday.
There are nearby beaches, theme parks like Movie World, Sea World and DreamWorld all within short driving distance from the hotel plus plenty more.
- Can I wear my baby clothes or just diapers in the lobby?
No, it is important to remember that vanilla dress is the ONLY acceptable attire in public areas of the hotel. We are very serious about this. We need you to help keep our convention safe as well as ensure that the venue will have us back again. If we ask you to change, or leave the area, we’re not just being mean, so please do so.
There will be other guests at the hotel and it is very important that they are not exposed to our kinks and lifestyle without their consent.
Failure to follow this rule may result in you being asked to leave the event.
- Okay, so what is allowed INSIDE of the Convention?
Well, as long as your front and backside are fully covered you can wear regular clothes, diapers/nappies, pilchers, onesies, dresses, baby clothes, furry or sissy wear diapers and top or even just, or just diapers.
As it says in the rules, just please no showing of breasts, genitalia, or full nudity, for the comfort of others, so just be respectful and all will be well!
Rules in designated playspaces may be different, and will be announced in the future.
- Is the hotel aware of what we are doing?
Absolutely, they know all about who we are and what we do. They know what our convention is and have been instrumental in helping us get it set up and they have also hosted other similar events before. However, please remember there are other guests staying at the hotel, and we ask that you remain appropriately dressed in the lobby, and other public spaces.
The hotel will only allow us to use their venue if it is not damaging to their business – please respect them and their other guests. (See above question/answer)
- What is the picture policy, and how will it work?
Please, no photos or video recordings are allowed to be taken at any time.
There will be event-authorised photographers available to take pictures, so anyone else taking pics will be asked to leave.
- So who is coming?
We are open to all genders so you will find hims, hers, themses, baby furs, and all types! We welcome all adult littles, middles, babygirls and babyboys, lolitas, little sissies and bubbies, age players and regressers, peeps that don’t, ABs, DLs.
We also welcome their caregivers, Daddies, Mommies, Aunties, Babysitters, Big Brothers and Sisters, etc. And there might be all kinds of pups, kitties and other furries and pets and handlers as well!
- Will spanking, and other scenes, be allowed in the convention space?
Not in the main convention spaces, but you are welcome to (discreetly and within the hotel code of conduct) arrange/participate scenes back in your room.
- Will fursuits be allowed in the general convention area?
No, and we have a few reasons for our restriction of full fursuits but there’s still plenty of ways to express your furry or pet identity!
In the convention space, you can wear ears, tails, paws and claws, and certain masks like puppy masks.
Of course we do love our baby furries, and they are very much part of our convention and community. But there are hardly any places especially for ABDL people to be themselves, and really there’s lots where furries and pets and do their thing.
So just keep it to the basics for this event.
We can’t wait to see you on the Gold Coast for the very first KangaCon, and thanks so much for being a part of the fun!
